Biography: The Lincolnshire Chronicle (31st July 1857) reported on a cricket match between the Grimsby club and a combined Hull and New Holland XI. The match was played "in a field belonging to Mr Marris, of Ulceby Chase, conveniently situated near to Brocklesby station." The earliest Brocklesby team played "on the ground near Brocklesby station." in 1852, presumably the same one.
